Thanks to Heath, progress has been made.

The guy I bought the unit from led me to believe all of the parts I needed  "came with".

He knew I was setting it up outdoors.

This unfortunate happenstance, has led to the slow progression and completion of my project.
The tank does not have a top that seals. Rain, bugs, leaves get to enter and inhabit the  reservoir.  Therefore I will have to buy a top "online", before this addition to my fish room is completed.

Make sure your "SARCASM ALERT BUTTON" button has been engaged....

Alright, let’s just say you need a fish room favor. If you ask a trusted friend and fish compadre’ to help you, it might be advisable to not let that person work alone in your private haven from the real world.

If you don’t check references, notice political comments and observations made in casual conversation, look into their eyes as you query them about the beliefs they hold dear and the causes they most love, and then give them a key to your house, things will happen.

PASSIVE AGGRESSIVE PEACENIK’S RUN A MUCK!
The ornate bicher was , needless to say , humiliated that it took me a week to realize the shame he bore by this politically driven act of mayhem...It could have been worse , I guess, it could have been a  Hammer and Sickle.
This bit of political graffiti..was
brought to you with glee, by Heath's Aquatic Services .

My friend Ryan called me on the phone..

at 12:30 Am this morning...knowing I would be up...he informed me there was a big ring around the moon....and that he was trying to get a photo of it....it is needless too say that this got my attention...and so I set forth with "old trusty" to try and  capture the event...here is the result...

Apparently..only 9 million or so pictures of moon rings inhabit Google Images...however this one is special... because its mine....

The one good thing about not having a healthy sleep regimen...

is that your slightly awake at 4:30 am when the shit hits the fan...

Mr. Photogenic lost his new digs around that time....I knew the stand that I modifeid to fit the 75 gallon.,was of questionable integrity, but, I assumed it would be worthy of the task...I thought wrong...

It was notable that the stream of water pouring on the power strip did trip the GFI breaker to the entire room....

which makes it safer for me....but complicates my life "to no end"..

Mr. "PH" ...is alive and still kickin' "

It could have been much worse. If I was not home, and/or not heard the noise, he would have died...

I'll eventually get the stand fixed...and give my fishy a new , bigger, domicile... in due time...

OK....Mr.Photogenic gets new digs....

Many thanks go out to Ryan for his support , assistance and perseverance  in accomplishing a  task with little reward .

My Flowerhorn  Cichlid had grown a little too large for his 55 gallon tank that he inhabited alone, by himself..

These pic's, taken soon after the move to the 75 gallon Mr. Photogenic now dwells in may have been a bit rushed....but, great thanks go out to my fish tank compadre who lives down the street...Not all of my neighbors suck...

the struggle continues
I plan to have actual water in it eventually,,,these things take time...

My Mom has ulterior motives, other than entertainment for the babes.

Amazon.com Review
Tana Hoban has created an elegant solution for those who want to initiate children into the infinite wonders of reading. This picture book compels parents to talk to their babies as they share the wordless pages with their little ones. Black illustrations on a white background provide high contrast for infants' underdeveloped eyes. Soothingly familiar, silhouetted shapes--a leaf, a key ring, a bib, an elephant--will be recognized by the very young, and through these simple pictures, aspiring readers will begin to identify the link between the objects they see and the words their caregivers say.

I've read a lot of fishbooks...over 250 in the inventory...

not done me much good...

The BREVARD AREA REEF SOCIETY held a Meeting..

last weekend. I ,of course, attended said meeting. I won this coral in the raffle.
I hate the raffle,I must say.." I alone" hate the raffle.

Why,,,,we did not need this sideshow to attract members in the past,,,why do we need it now?

Why?...because winning is everything...

Anywhoo...

Here's my acanthastrea,,

very cool...

Why I like fish,,.,,or at least one of the reasons,,,

I went out to give the fish room one of my late night visits to feed....

I do this often,,,

I Was going through the motions..yes .."lots of food for you"...."a smidgen  for you",...and "just enough,,,, so you don't kill each other for you"....

and then..

I noticed little yellow blobs on the back glass glass of a tank, where none had been before..

OK, Here is the "back story"...

I purchased three "Buffalo head" cichlids ( as I have always referred to them)..over a year ago....I put the three in a 10 gallon tank by themselves . Unfortunately one of the fish met an early demise..
it happens..

The two that were left seemed to fight constantly. They chased each other, yet no severe harm seemed to come to either of them ,at any time.

I left the two  in the tank and fed them copious amounts of high protein flake food.

Several months ago I threw in a layer of giant duckweed that shaded the tank from the 15 watt bulb over it.

many water changes, and many months later......

Tonight I found these,,,

After I obtained a better view by displacing a box filter blocking my  line of sight,,the larger of the "pair" hurriedly  removed any encroaching snail from the egg mass..busily protecting the spawn..

While not a new or extraordinary feat in the hobby I pursue,,,it is still a neat experience for me...

The fate of the fry?:
IF the eggs are fertile.
IF the parents don't eat them
IF the water parameters are correct
IF the foods I initially  introduce are sufficient ...

I may obtain a few survivors..

and they are commonly called "lion heads" or Block heads"...

                                           FISH BASE: Lionhead Cichlid

Plucked the Philippine Red leg hermit crab..

From his reef inspired domicile this evening. He had acquired a branch of Kenya tree coral on his back, and was carrying it around like a prize.  I tried to capture both him and his prize, a prize won by inactivity I suppose, without success. In the process I  broke a piece of pavona coral ,and knocked the Kenya tree off his shell..

Good times...

I then discovered, to my dismay, that the Philippine Red Leg hermit crab is a very patient creature....not gracing me with his presence often or with great vigor.

He, she, it...is a pain in the ass.
